Your choice to travel with El Sendero fills us with gratitude. Our greatest commitment is to transform your time in the coffee region into a rich experience. To ensure a smooth experience, we ask that you carefully review the policies, terms, and conditions detailed below. Your understanding and cooperation are essential for the adventures that await you.

Acceptance of our Terms and Conditions:

By making a reservation through our website, by email, WhatsApp, or in person, you acknowledge and agree to these terms and conditions. Any participation in our services will be deemed acceptance of this agreement.

Modification of these terms:

El Sendero reserves the right to update or modify these terms of use without prior notice. It is the customer's responsibility to regularly review our terms and conditions to ensure they are aware of any changes.

Booking Confirmation:

After a client submits a booking request, their confirmation is subject to payment verification based on the request. All included and excluded services will be specified in the confirmation. If no explicit response or objection is received from the client after our communication, it will be assumed that they accept our terms and conditions. Consequently, El Sendero is not responsible for any misunderstandings or unforeseen circumstances arising from this.

Note: Please ensure you read, understand, and agree to our terms and conditions before confirming your reservation with El Sendero.

Reservation Policies for El Sendero

Initial Deposit:

To secure a reservation for a tour and trek with El Sendero, clients must make a deposit of 50% of the total tour price. This deposit can be paid in cash, credit card, or debit card. Once the reservation is initiated, it is presumed that the client has thoroughly reviewed and accepted El Sendero's Terms and Conditions.

Booking Confirmation:

The reservation is confirmed and binding from the date El Sendero acknowledges receipt of the client's deposit. At this point, a binding contractual agreement is established between the client and El Sendero.

Shared Responsibility:

All persons named in the reservation are jointly responsible for the agreement with El Sendero. The person signing the contract is considered the representative of each person named in the reservation. This means that all parties are informed of and agree to El Sendero's Terms and Conditions.

Required Reservation Information:

Along with the deposit, we require the submission of specific personal information on a form that will be sent to you.

Payment Policies:

Accepted Payment Methods:

For initial deposits and final payments, we accept cash, credit, or debit cards. Our authorized platform for domestic and international payments is bold.co. No traveler can begin the tour unless payment has been fully cleared.

Cancellation Policies:

Cancellation Request:

All cancellation requests must be formally submitted by email directly to info@elsendero.com.co. The request must be made by the person who originally made the reservation and the initial deposit.

Initial Deposit:

Unfortunately, all initial deposits are 100% non-refundable and non-transferable under any circumstances. Even if a medical emergency occurs, your deposit will remain non-refundable (we do not accept medical notes or documentation as proof of refunds). This is because we allocate these funds to secure entrance fees, insurance, lodging, guides, and meals, which are non-refundable for us. Please note that there are no exceptions to this policy.

Date Changes:

If the client wishes to reschedule their trip, they may do so by submitting a request 15 days prior to the tour start date to info@elsendero.com.co, subject to availability on the new date. A maximum of one (1) rescheduling request may be made, and the maximum rescheduling time will be one year from the date of the email received with the cancellation request for the tour to be rescheduled. In the event that, after the trip has been rescheduled, the traveler cancels again, no further rescheduling will be possible.

Additional Considerations:

  • If a client decides to end their trek once it has begun, no refunds will be provided. Any additional costs resulting from this decision, such as food, lodging, and transportation, will be the client's responsibility.

  • If a client is unable to undertake the trek due to health or physical conditions, no refunds will be issued. Likewise, any subsequent costs, such as food, lodging, and transportation, will be the client's responsibility.

  • In cases where natural disasters or unforeseen events prevent the provision of a service, a 50% refund of the total trek value will be provided, taking into account administrative expenses. If such events cause alterations to the trek route, no refunds will be provided.

  • In light of the recent global pandemic, if a service cannot be provided due to pandemics or unforeseen events, no refunds will be issued. Instead, clients will be offered a reschedule that will allow them to use the service on an alternative date, subject to availability.

  • Failure to attend informational meetings will be considered a no-show.

  • Failure to participate in a scheduled tour will also be considered a no-show. No refunds will be issued for no-shows under any circumstances.

Terms and conditions of tours and treks:

Orientation and Group Dynamics:

By joining a Group Tour, you understand that the pace and timing of the group may vary due to individual abilities. If you are uncomfortable with waiting for other group members or the pressure of waiting for you, we suggest a private trek for your convenience.

Health and Safety on the Trail:

If a participant becomes ill or injured and cannot continue, after confirmation and at the discretion of the guide, they will be provided with the means to evacuate them to a place where medical care is available. This will activate the medical assistance policy included in all our treks. This policy has coverage and amounts, which you can view by clicking here.

Responsibilities and Obligations:

El Sendero guarantees the safety of its clients, hiring highly qualified professionals to prevent accidents, illnesses, and loss of personal property, and employing only qualified personnel. We are responsible for the actions of our employees, but cannot be held responsible for third parties. Clients must supervise their personal and rented items.

El Sendero is not responsible for adverse weather conditions, natural disasters, strikes, accidents, health problems, loss of personal belongings, etc. Clients must have insurance to cover these eventualities. We reserve the right to change or cancel programs due to unforeseen adverse conditions.

Assumption of Risk:

Adventure and exploration carry associated risks. These risks may arise from various factors, including, but not limited to, forces of nature, animals, insects, and vegetation. By continuing with your reservation, you acknowledge these possible risks. Your decision to participate in any of our tours indicates your understanding and voluntary acceptance of these risks.

Liability:

El Sendero's financial responsibility to its clients is strictly limited to the total amount they have paid to the company. Beyond this monetary limit, El Sendero will not be liable for direct or indirect damages, losses, or costs incurred by the client, unless explicitly specified in these Terms and Conditions.

Applicable Law:

All interactions, transactions, and potential disputes arising from the use of this website or any interaction with El Sendero will be governed by the legal jurisdiction of Colombia and Tourism Law 300. By using our services, you, the client, consent to the jurisdiction and governance of the Colombian courts for any matter or dispute that may arise.

Right to Use Images:

By participating in any of the treks offered by El Sendero, the client expressly grants El Sendero permission to capture and use any images, photos, and videos taken during the tour for promotional and marketing purposes. This includes, but is not limited to, use in brochures, online marketing, and social media platforms. The client acknowledges that they will not receive any compensation, financial or otherwise, for the use of such images, photos, or videos. This consent is given freely and without the expectation of any return or benefit. However, if the client does not wish El Sendero to use any images from their tour for promotional purposes, they must notify us in advance. To do so, you can send an email to info@elsendero.com.co
