It is one of the most beautiful places in Colombia. It is located in the department of Quindío and is home to a large number of wax palms, the national tree of Colombia.

    This 1-day hiking tour to the Cocora Valley is an excellent option for nature and adventure lovers.

  • Pick-up

    Our trip begins in Salento. The guide and driver will pick you up at 8:00 a.m. in a private vehicle that will take us to the Cocora Valley on a journey of approximately 25 minutes.


    Arrival in Cocora and start of the hike

    After receiving recommendations from your guide, you'll begin your hike through the Cocora Valley, where you'll appreciate the sweeping landscapes of this incredible place. You'll make stops to refresh while your guide surprises you with his or her environmental and historical interpretation of the area.


    Arrival in Cocora and start of the hike

    At the 5th kilometer, we'll reach the Acaime Hummingbird Reserve, home to hundreds of different bird species, including hummingbirds. Here, we'll take a break and enjoy a local hot beverage.


    Start of the hike for the return

    To return to our starting point, we'll take a different trail up the mountain, which will allow us to appreciate the mountain from another perspective and descend through the viewpoints of the Cera palm forest.


    Return to Salento

    At the end of our hike, we'll have final reflections on our tour and thank yous from the guide, where our vehicle will be waiting to take us back to Salento.


    Lunch

    After enjoying the highlights of this tour, we'll return to Salento for a delicious lunch.

  • What physical condition do I need?: 

    To undertake this hike, you need to be in good physical condition. If you want to make the most of your trip, you should be able to walk a distance of 11 km between ascents and descents.


    Briefing: 

    All briefings are held virtually the day before the trip. The meetings last approximately 30 to 45 minutes. We will check that you have everything you need, answer any questions you may have about the trek, and you can also pay the remaining 50%.


    Where can I store my main luggage?: During the trip, you can safely store any equipment you won't need for the trek at your hotel. Almost all hotels offer this service.


    Pickup: 

    All pickups are within Salento. We recommend booking a hotel that is as central as possible and with a good location. If you are staying in an area far from the center of Salento, you will be required to pay an additional fee for pickup. Our staff will confirm your pickup time the day before the tour.


    Reservations and Prepayment: 

    To book this adventure, simply select your desired date and reserve 50% of the total. The remaining 50% is typically paid the day before the trek begins at the briefing.


    Accepted Payment Methods: 

    For the first and last payment, we accept cash, credit, and debit cards.

    • Days before the trek, please pay attention to your diet, avoid alcohol or drugs, and avoid smoking.
    • Do not consume alcoholic beverages or hallucinogenic drugs before or during the trek.
    • Do not extract any plant or animal species from the ecosystem.
    • Please return all trash to the city.
